Strategic Deployment of IPv6: Assessing the Efficacy of Dual-Stack and DNS64 in Small and Medium Networks

Project Abstract

The internet needs to move from IPv4 to IPv6 because there are not enough IPv4 addresses for all the internet-connected devices in the world. This change can make the network more efficient and secure. This research compares two methods for making the change: dual-stack and DNS64. The study looks at how the two methods work in a house and a school network. The study uses a tool called Cisco Packet Tracer to model the networks. The study will show which method is better for smaller or larger networks. The goal of the research is to find the best method for making the change from IPv4 to IPv6 depending on the network size and needs. Once the research is done, the study will provide guidelines for making the change. These guidelines will help people make good decisions about how to change the network. In summary, this research is important because it will show how to make the change from IPv4 to IPv6 in a good way. This will help make the internet more efficient and secure.
