Threat Modelling ? comparison of different threat models and modelling tools.

Project Abstract

Safeguarding sensitive data and vital information is crucial in todays intricately linked digital world. In today?s world there are approximately there are over 2,200 attacks each day which breaks down to nearly 1 cyberattack every 39 seconds. With these frequent attacks, protection from these attacks should be a very priority for businesses big or small. This specification and planning document will entail details about threat models and threat modelling tools. We will be looking at various types of threat models and threat modelling tools. Some of the issues with threat modelling are choosing a correct model and modelling tool. With a fast-developing digital world the options keep rising. Then comes the part where different models focus on different threats. Choosing the right model and modelling tool for a particular system is very crucial. This project aims to suggest an optimal model and modelling tool for maximum efficiency and implementing a tool on a particular system. I have tested out two threat modelling tools, Microsoft Threat Modelling Tool and OWASP threat dragon.
