A Cyber-Security Educational Tool

Project Abstract

AbstractThe proposed project aims to develop an innovative educational tool focused on cybersecurity education. The tool is designed to address the prevalent technical skills gaps in the cyber security sector, particularly targeting pre-university students, with a focus on secondary school students. The key aspects of the project include: a target audience of pre-university students, a pedagogical approach based on frameworks that progress from basic to advanced topics while considering individual learning abilities and career aspirations, and a mobile application format to ensure accessibility. The project seeks to contribute to bridging the existing technical skills gap within the cybersecurity sector, address the need for structured cybersecurity education at the pre-university level, and provide personalised learning paths and engaging, accessible learning experiences for students. The curriculum will be designed to provide comprehensive instructions for teachers, potentially as an “off-the-shelf” resource, to support guided learning and address the challenges of integrating cybersecurity education into school curricula. The proposed cybersecurity mobile application will offer a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for both students and teachers, with features such as personalised learning paths, and modular curriculum design.
