ADHD in Education: Developing an Educational App for Key Stage 3 Students
Project Abstract
As the number of students with ADHD rises, the development of an educational app tailored to their specific needs becomes more necessary. This app aims to address the challenges faced by these students, in particular, those in Key Stage 3. Designed to be used alongside their school studies, it uses the KS3 syllabus as a template to shape its content. The app develops upon established and validated methods to support the students, through techniques such as gamification, colour schemes and positive reinforcement. Results show that the app is effective at promoting learning and motivation, with users having increased performance across different tasks set throughout the app. This study shows that the combination of educational apps specifically for students with ADHD can be used alongside their school learning.
