Game Developing for Alzheimers Disease

Project Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease, also known as dementia (AD) is a progressive neurological ailment that usually affects the elderly, causing cognitive decline, memory loss, and eventually problems in everyday functioning. As the population ages, the frequency of Alzheimer’s disease increases, bringing substantial problems to people, families, and healthcare systems across the world. While there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, there is rising interest in alternatives to drugs such as cognitive training and rehabilitation programs to reduce the disease’s impact on mental abilities and overall quality of life.In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in using digital technologies, like as games and interactive software, as aids for cognitive stimulation and rehabilitation in AD. Game creation for people with Alzheimer’s is a promising way to engage patients in pleasurable and cognitively stimulating activities, perhaps decreasing cognitive decline and improving general well-being.
