NM4723 Food Sharing App

Project Abstract

This project is built based on the fact that there is a small percentage of users who are ignored by the market?those users facing social problems caused by inflation and the ascent of living costs. The intention of the project is to help students with income imbalances struggle with the problem of insufficient food. The development of mobile applications will help alleviate and provide new ways to solve similar societal situations. This project aims to develop a mobile application that, if any food is left over when the University organises an event, the organiser will be able to use the mobile app first to notify students struggling with daily meals to pick up the excess food at a designated location. The app is developed in Kotlin and Java using Android Studio, the primary development tool for Android. This project is a testament to our commitment to social and environmental responsibility. By providing a platform for sharing leftover food, we hope to support the university community with students facing financial issues and contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing the waste of food.Food Sharing app can have positive impacts, not only by redistribution of leftover food but also by awakening awareness of not wasting food and helping students in need.
