Low cost pollution monitoring
Project Abstract
Water quality issues resulting from sewage discharge into UK waterways havebecome a matter of public and environmental health concern. This research paperinvestigates the environmental and health implications of current wastewatermanagement practices and the role played by storm overflows in elevating waterpollution levels. It aims to propose a proof of concept that utilises real-timemonitoring systems, using an Arduino Uno microcontroller and a turbidity sensor.Through analysis and testing, this paper seeks to establish the viability andeffectiveness of the proposed monitoring system.
