Interactive Legal Interview for Universal Credit Child Element
Project Abstract
Universal Credit is a complex beast, deciding a persons eligibility and entitlement to the scheme isn’t simple, the language and length of the law is long and intricate, having to go through all of them manually could lead to potential errors and steps being missed over which could potentially lead to a person getting the wrong amount (less than they deserved) or completely ignored from the scheme when they were entirely eligible for. My dissertation focuses on the implementation of a part of universal credit pertaining to the child element scheme, and developing it into a “legal interview” where a user can navigate the law based on their situation and end up with a final result depending on the answers given.
