Project Abstract

Considering the sophistication of today’s digital dangers, this research project attempts to enhance the usability and efficacy of antivirus software. This initiative is important because it directly affects our ability to maintain secure digital environments and protect sensitive data. This study aims to critically evaluate existing antivirus software to generate actionable insights for improvement. The major focus will be on the system’ capacity to avoid modern cyberthreats and their overall user experience. This study used a mixed-method approach in its methodology, which included user experience surveys, in-depth examinations of recent literature and testing of recently created prototypes. These approaches are designed to assess the usability and practicality of antiviral software over an extensive range of user demographics. The main findings indicate that while current antivirus software is effective at identifying malware that has been known to exist, they fall short when it comes to real-time threat detection or intuitive user interfaces. The research also produced recommendations for using cutting-edge AI technology and improving user interface designs. The results of this study significantly increase our understanding of cybersecurity solutions. It highlights the shortcomings of current antivirus software, especially regarding addressing new and emerging threats and provides a framework for future enhancements. These contributions are priceless because they help software engineers create antivirus solutions that are more user-friendly and effective, improving security against ever evolving cyberthreats. This research shifts the traditional model of antivirus software development from a reactive to a more proactive approach regarding cybersecurity defences.
