Kanban with Custom Cards

Project Abstract

In the agile methodology scrum, the tasks, represented by cards, are in kanban boards, which are tables often with the columns: to do, doing and done. There are many different online kanban boards available however, none offer the ability to customise the fields inside of the cards. Different companies have different requirements of information for example feature cards might require the business reason for this feature. The focus of this project will be on giving users the ability to create custom cards that best suits the needs of the team. Custom cards will be divided into different types of cards, which will allow users to have different types of cards for different purposes, such as bug cards including the steps to reproduce the issue as well as which areas are affected i.e. dev, staging or production. The result of the project is a web application developed using Next.js, a React framework, and has most of the functionality of other online kanban boards but with the addition of custom cards, where admins of the board will be able to create custom cards to go along with different card types. Use cases for different card types could be for different domains such as frontend, backend, or network; representing different types of work; and representing different costs of the cards.
