A Wearable Reminder System for Encouraging Movement in Elderly Users Using Air Pressure Sensing

Project Abstract
This project focuses on developing a wearable reminder device designed to help elderly people stay active by encouraging regular movement throughout the day. As people age, they may forget to move around or spend long periods sitting, which can affect their health over time. The device, which functions like a basic smartwatch, uses an air pressure sensor connected to an MSP-EXP430 board to detect inactivity. The technology can detect when someone has been sitting for too long and send a reminder to get up and move by detecting the changes in air pressure when they are moving and when they are not. The goal is to make the reminders plain and straightforward, especially for those who have trouble reading or comprehending complicated displays.
