Project Abstract

Between the 2016/17 and 2020/21 academic years, the student population of Swansea University has increased by 2305 students an increase of 12% from the 2016/17 academic year. With the influx of students, a greater need for collaborative environments is needed to allow for students to effectively study together and work together on group projects. This project aims to create a product that will allow students to be able to book an unused room within the university for personal/ group use. To accomplish this I have created a full-stack web application using the react (for front-end development) and spring (for back-end development) libraries incorporating a MySQL database to store all required information. This will expand the number of spaces in which students can be productive within university grounds. By improving the accessibility for productive environments students will be able to collaborate on group projects and study together more effectively.
