Context and impact of computing technology: Economic Impact of Artificial Intelligence

Project Abstract

This project explores the profound economic impacts of artificial intelligence (AI), analyzing its dual role as both a driver of productivity and a disruptor in labor markets. Motivated by the transformative potential of AI and the urgent need to manage its implications responsibly, the study employs comprehensive research methodologies, including econometric models and comparative analyses. It reveals how AI enhances economic outputs across key sectors while significantly reshaping employment landscapes. The findings indicate substantial growth in regional GDPs, especially in technologically advanced regions. They also underscore the necessity for adaptive workforce strategies to address AI-driven job displacements. The research is driven by a commitment to understanding these dynamics to maximize economic gains while safeguarding societal welfare in an AI-integrated future. The project concludes with strategic recommendations for policymakers, educators, and industry leaders to harness AI’s potential responsibly, ensuring sustainable economic development and equitable benefit distribution across society.
