A Dynamic Computing Education Resource Hub for Teacher.

Project Abstract

The integration of technology in education has catalyzed the transformation of traditional teaching methodologies, particularly in computing education. This project proposes the development of a web-based application designed to enhance the educational experience by converting PowerPoint presentations into interactive quizzes and facilitating the customization of teaching materials. Aimed primarily at computing educators, the application addresses the significant challenge of the scarcity of adaptable educational resources, which are crucial for catering to diverse learning environments. The application’s core functionalities include the automatic generation of quiz questions from the content of uploaded PowerPoint slides and the capability for users to edit both the presentations and the quizzes. This dual functionality not only transforms passive learning into a more active, engaging experience but also empowers educators to tailor their instructional materials to specific classroom needs. The platform promotes a dynamic approach to education, where resources can be continuously adapted and improved based on real-time feedback and changing educational standards. Moreover, the project fosters a community of practice by enabling peer-to-peer collaboration and the sharing of resources within a peer-reviewed framework. This community aspect is designed to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of educational content, making the platform a robust hub for high-quality educational materials.Preliminary research supports the effectiveness of such interactive tools in enhancing student engagement, retention, and performance. The proposed project, therefore, not only aligns with current educational needs but also contributes to the evolving landscape of educational technology by providing a practical, innovative solution for computing educators. This project represents a significant step forward in the effort to integrate more adaptable and interactive tools into educational practices, potentially setting a new standard for educational resources in computing and beyond.
