GPS Treasure Hunt

Project Abstract

Motivation & Background: GPS technology has given treasure hunts an extra level of excitement and adventure. GPS treasure hunts combine the joy of adventure with the precision of current navigation equipment, making them fun and accessible for all ages. The Proposition: This project seeks to create a framework for developing and implementing GPS treasure hunts in urban and the outdoors environments. Participants can explore specified sites by following clues and using GPS devices and mapping software.Unique Positioning: This work focuses engagement and interactivity. A GPS treasure hunt uses dynamic clues, real-time updates, and augmented reality to make the journey more exciting and technologically advanced than traditional treasure hunts. User preferences, behaviour patterns, and technology capabilities are researched for the user-focused design study. Data from surveys and focus groups will be used to create a comprehensive set of GPS treasure hunt standards and best practices.Research findings: Iterative testing and refinement gave positive results. Participants reported increased participation, problem-solving, and environmental appreciation. GPS technology has revolutionised treasure hunting by making navigating easy. Conclusion and Contribution: This research could change treasure hunts and outdoor activities. It combines the thrill of exploration with the accuracy of modern technology to create a unique and fascinating experience that promotes physical exercise, teamwork, and problem-solving. This study’s findings and advice will help create more interesting and accessible treasure hunts for all ages and backgrounds.
