Commonsense reasoning in computer science
Project Abstract
The goal of this research is to increase road safety and efficiency by creating a formal representation of commonsense reasoning in driving behavior, with an emphasis on intersections. Through the integration of Answer Set Programming (ASP) with expert rules and domain-specific knowledge, the project models human decision-making in intricate traffic scenarios. One of the project’s main goals is to provide a solid foundation for illustrating commonsense thinking in driving behavior, which will make it easier and safer for autonomous cars to negotiate junctions. The project’s contributions will guide the creation of driver assistance and intelligent transportation systems, resulting in safer and more effective driving environments.
