Data Analysis for CCTV Anomaly Detection
Project Abstract
This research is going to major in automatizing anomaly detection in CCTV footage through data analytics, more precisely by the employment of machine learning algorithms, for vital public safety and security. The research work consists of data collection and preprocessing from the said source, the development of anomaly detection algorithms, and the evaluation of algorithm performance. This is, therefore, inspired by the need for reduced response times, yet with a high need for the most effective security systems in place, and this can be done through the automated systems that will be put up for anomaly detection. While classical approaches have limitations, the machine learning-based method shows promise. Further work is needed to address the problems of generalization and scalability and find benefits through multimodal techniques and transfer learning.
