Real-time Sitting Posture Monitoring System Based on Smart Cushion for Bad Posture Detection with Alerting System

Project Abstract

Imagine having a personal coach for sitting, but in the form of a cushion. The system is designed to detect and correct poor seating habits, functioning as a personal posture coach. Real-time Sitting Posture Monitoring System Based on Smart Cushion for Bad Posture Detection with Alerting System uses real-time monitoring to identify bad sitting posture, alerting the user if such posture is maintained for more than five minutes. This encourages immediate correction, promoting spinal health and preventing long-term discomfort. Additionally, recognizing the health risks associated with prolonged sitting, the system also prompts users to take a five-minute break every hour, fostering healthier seating habits. This innovative approach combines technology and health science to create a practical solution to a common problem, aiming to improve overall health and wellbeing.Research QuestionHow effective is the ?Real-time Sitting Posture Monitoring System Based on Smart Cushion? in detecting and alerting users of bad posture in real-time, and what is its impact on user behaviour and comfort?
