Smart Home Energy Management System

Project Abstract

This study delves into the flourishing field of Smart Home Energy Management (SHEM), which plays a pivotal role in optimizing energy consumption and bolstering sustainability efforts. Focused on addressing the pressing challenges of energy usage efficiency and cost, particularly prevalent in developing countries with inadequate energy infrastructures, the research aims to construct a simulated J-SHEMS. This simulation will encompass essential features such as energy collection, storage, appliance management, user interface, and remote accessibility. By developing and analyzing the operations of J-SHEMS, including its ability to optimize energy consumption and cost-effectiveness, the study seeks to demonstrate its potential to alleviate strain on energy grids, enhance demand-side management, and potentially create new revenue streams. The motivation behind this endeavor stems from the critical need to mitigate energy-related challenges and enhance environmental sustainability. Ultimately, the implementation of J-SHEMS is expected to empower household consumers by providing them with greater control over their energy usage and costs, thereby improving their overall quality of life. Critical to the success of J-SHEMS is the inclusion of user-friendly visual features, efficient energy management algorithms, and remote-control capabilities to ensure seamless integration into residential settings.
