GPS TRESURE HUNT

Project Abstract

GPS treasure hunts represent a contemporary take on traditional scavenger hunts, leveraging technology to create dynamic outdoor experiences. This innovative concept merges recreation with digital advancements, catering to individuals seeking fresh adventures in the modern era. With the widespread availability of GPS-equipped devices like smartphones, now presents an opportune moment to delve into the potential of GPS treasure hunts.Beyond mere amusement, these hunts promote outdoor engagement, foster exploration of new locales, and nurture teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Moreover, they lend themselves well to educational applications, offering interactive learning opportunities across disciplines such as history, geography, and environmental science. Our research endeavors to probe the distinct positioning of GPS treasure hunts as both recreational pursuits and educational tools. Central to this investigation is the question: How can the design and execution of GPS treasure hunts be optimized to enhance enjoyment and facilitate learning? The methodology of our study revolves around crafting and evaluating GPS treasure hunt scenarios across diverse settings, including urban landscapes, parks, and historical sites. Embracing a participatory approach, we involve participants in the design phase to ensure the hunts are immersive and efficacious.Key insights gleaned from our research underscore the adaptability of GPS treasure hunts to cater to varied interests and age brackets. Incorporating elements such as storytelling, puzzles, and interactive challenges significantly bolstered participant engagement and satisfaction. Additionally, these hunts proved adept at stimulating exploration and facilitating learning in outdoor environments. In summation, our research advances understanding regarding the effective utilization of GPS treasure hunts for recreational and educational endeavors. By showcasing their efficacy and appeal, we shed light on an innovative avenue for outdoor pursuits that seamlessly integrates technological capabilities.
