Linter for New Programmers
Project Abstract
In Eloquerry, I made it my mission to help new developers understand the issues with having code smells or other characteristics clogging the code. My goals included having a command line tool to take in a file or multiple files to quickly and understandably interface with, being very clear in allowing new programmers to understand what they were doing and why it may not be desirable.Having gone over other tools that attempt to make this interface, they mostly focus on being fast and advanced for experienced programmers to quickly check what they have done wrong; where Eloquerry differs is that it attempts to eloquently convey the positives and negatives of the program in question to a beginner. This project is not one that gives clear findings but instead a tool that can be utilised by all to improve the clarity of their code using rules set up by yourself or downloaded from a company database.
