Web Status System
Project Abstract
In today’s digital landscape, businesses heavily rely on cloud-based applications and services, with game server hosting providers being no exception. However, as businesses grow and their dependence on these providers increases, so do the risks associated with provider outages. This research aims to develop a comprehensive web application that offers insights into the current and historical status of Linux machines and websites, addressing the need for robust monitoring and response solutions in the game hosting industry. By combining server health monitoring, ping monitoring from various locations, and an incident announcement system, this project seeks to provide an all-in-one solution that bridges the gap between existing monitoring tools and effective communication with customers. The study employs a distributed application architecture, leveraging technologies such as PHP with Laravel, Vue.js, Node.js, and bash scripting to create a seamless integration between the web application, server poller, and metrics collector components. The final product delivers a user-friendly interface for administrators to manage servers, websites, and incidents, while also providing a public frontend for visitors to view server status, metrics, and incident history. This research contributes to the field by offering a tailored solution for the game hosting industry that enhances transparency, improves user experience, and enables service providers to efficiently address issues that arise.
