Site Manager 360 – Developing a Site Management Application

Project Abstract
This project was initiated in response to a company’s need for restructuring. TPS360, a flooring contractor, is overhauling its operations to address inefficiencies encountered during jobs and requires a custom web application to streamline its workflow. The application centralises job management, reducing reliance on multiple disconnected tools. While existing solutions offer similar functionalities, none fully align with TPS360’s specific needs, making a bespoke application the most effective solution. The web application was developed using the Laravel PHP framework for both the front and back end. Key features include managing the full job life cycle, overseeing quality assurance of job tasks, assigning employees to jobs, generating job reports, and tracking worked hours. The project followed the Kanban agile methodology, providing a flexible structure and facilitating easy-to-manage user stories. Frequent communication with TPS360’s managers highlighted common industry challenges in translating evolving customer requirements into functional software. Overcoming these obstacles required iterative development and close collaboration with stakeholders. The final application is set to undergo field testing, during which managers will provide feedback to refine the system before deployment. This process ensures that the software aligns with real-world use cases and enhances operational efficiency. Beyond this project, the development approach and insights gained could serve as a framework for similar businesses seeking tailored digital solutions.
